Source control, ventilation, and filtration are the keys to healthy indoor air quality. Dehumidification is important too.

Depends on the XPS
In some cases, XPS may not require thermal or ignition barriers (it is important to consult the ICC-Evaluation Service report for a specific product to see if that product is exempt from requiring such barriers).
