i have to take out old fold down attic stairs and install new ones. anybody know which fhb covered that? thanks for any help.

I'm not sure. Dont buy the wooden ones, they are junk. I just took mine completely out and made a hatch. I need a ladder to get into the attic, but I'm fine with that.
This is the best one out there. Air tight seal, insulated, locking lever.

Go with the Werner Pulldown. Its an easy swap and the werner is designed so one man can install it.
I dont know which issue it was but you shouldnt need it. Its really a pretty simple job.
