Great week for Wisconsin football, unlike last week. Badgers spot Ohio State 17 points, come back to win, deja vu to last visit there. Packers dominate the super bowl champ Ravens. Gotta like it. How’re your teams doing?

Rich B., you don’t need to reply~!

Raiders doing good 4-1, beat Indy @ Indy, tough game must of been the game of the week. Man that peyton Manning is a good QB and Indys "D" is looking pretty good too.

*Lions lost to the Vikes, Packers beat the Ravens (thatb will be the game of the week) Farve was (is) awsome, Michigan State beat Iowa. Have also become a Fresno State fan (they beat Colorado State, saw that one too)...Hottest team in College football. The Super Bowl? Packers and the Ravens, the "Pack" wins by two touchdowns.Dano

*Pack is definitely for real! I've looked forward to this the whole off season (they finished last year playing real good football)! As long as they don't have any more games in 100+ degree heat...You didn't say I couldn't reply!Rich Beckman

*The Lions were just that...vintage Lions. But did anyone see the Red Wings spoil the Islanders 5-0 start with that tying goal with 9 seconds remaining? And Yzermans' winning goal in overtime sent Osgood to the showers with tears in his eyes.....Thank goodness we have the Wolverines!blue

*OOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHH! Now I understand! You don't want me saying anything about the Indiana University football team which may be the worst team I.U. has ever fielded (and that's saying a LOT)! Yet on one day, ten days ago, the I.U. football team was the best team in the country, beating Wisconsin 63 - 32(???), or something like that! OK, Dog, I'll keep my mouth shut...maybe no one here noticed it when it happened....Rich Beckman

Often.Must be some High School Team you're referring to.Sponsored by that Silver and Black Gangsta Clothing Co. with the pirate logo. The Oakland Raiders wouldn't have suited-up for the Jets. They'd let the Gatoraid/Towel Boys stomp the Jets... and keep the Uniforms clean for a worthy opponent.

*Blue, Yeah, yeah, yeah, bla, bla, bla. I checked, no controversy, except by the square heads from Ann Arbor. Tico runs for 211 yards through the "vaunted" Wolverine defensive line, check the stats. Besides it's the Referee who is in charge of the clock, not "some homer". Hehehe- UofM's BCS hopes down the tubes. They're just overated, can't even win a game where they sack Smoker 12 times, MVP for UofM was their second string QB.Dano

          46. Danford_C._Jennings | Nov 04, 2001 05:04am | #50

*Ok, Smoker only got sacked 11 times for a total of 79 yards.

          47. Wolverine_ | Nov 04, 2001 03:47pm | #51

*well Dano, I hate to say this, but I did watch the game, and even with the 211 on the ground, the Wolvies gave the spartans a gift, No question. We lost the game, you guys did not win it, if you know what I mean.Blue - the clock thing? hmmm. I watched the game, once you snap the ball you get to finish the play, no? I think they had one second left when he downed it, and when the next play happened, it was like fate. Far better to grouse about how we killed ourselves with stupid penalties when we could have ended the game with over a minute left!

          48. blue_eyed_devil_ | Nov 04, 2001 04:39pm | #52

*Wolvie, Smoker didn't get that ball grounded before time truly ran out. If that game was played with a neutral clock, the last play wouldn't have been available. They stopped that clock before the ball was grounded.blue

          49. Mad_Dog | Nov 04, 2001 04:48pm | #53

*Blue-Want some cheese with that wine?Yes, the big ten refs SUCK, and have sucked for years. Payback to Michigan for some bad calls of the past? Besides, the mighty Woverines are supposed to win bigger than what can be done on one tick of the clock, right?

          50. Mad_Dog | Nov 04, 2001 05:21pm | #54

*Dangit,The Packers are playing Tampa Bay up here this time, and instead of November winds, snow blasting cold, it's like Florida (well, northern Fl. in winter) out here.Think I'll go work instead. Not!

          51. Danford_C._Jennings | Nov 04, 2001 08:48pm | #55

*Wolve, shouldn't hate to say what you did, probably true. U of M had 74 yards in penalties, at what point they came can be a biggie too. Think I'm happy that Smoker got sacked 11 times for 79 yards in losses? At least you're being a "sport" about it. Point really is, it was a great game, sorry I couldn't watch it. Did try out ESPN's "Gamecast" though, sort of an online silent broadcast.MD, being out here in Pac 10 country, if you think Big 10 officiating sucks, watch these yahoos, worst I've ever seen. Good point about losin' it in the last second.Blue, wah, wah, wah.....If you are into college football in a big way, readi Shake Down the Thunder by Murry Sperber. It's all about Notre Dame football, good insight on officiating during the so called "Golden age" when Knute Rockne was head coach and AD. Again, the Referee holds the actual game clock, the one on the board is not official. i Success is just a matter of luck. Just ask any failure.Any who, the Bucs come to the frozen tundra of Lambeau Field off a big win, the Pack has had a week off to lick their wounds, should be an interesting win for Green Bay. Green Bay 28, Tampa Bay 10.Wearin' my Green Bay Packers hat.....Dano

*Eric, Dan,Don't you just love Bears vs. Packers? Even in years when one or both teams suck, the games are always a slugfest, going back to when football was a game for tough bastards like Nitschke, Ditka, Butkus, even goons like Doug Plank, Mark Carrier, Mossy Cade, that clown who tipped McMahon upside down, Charles something or other...The cool thing is that I think the Packers have won like 10 out of the last 11 or maybe even more one-sided than that. For a while, the Packers best weapon was Dave Wannstedt! Love that guy!!!Gonna be fun.

*Hey Wolvie! Who does Michigan have left on their schedule? If they lose the next two and Indiana wins the next two (Penn State and Purdue, actually possible(?) at this point!), they would tie in the Big Ten!Couldn't get more humiliating than that!Rich Beckman

*Packer - Bear game was good, especially given the outcome. What's wrong with Minnesota? They really suck! And how in the world did they beat the Pack?Rich Beckman

*Hi folks-I am back from the dead. Hey Wolvie! What's the difference between a bantam rooster and a Michigan Cheerleader? The rooster spends all day puffing out its chest crowing"cockle doodle doo..."The U of M cheerleader spends the day wiping off her chest singing "...any c#$k will do."hope everybody is well and happy out therehub

*Hey MD! How are you? Didja shoot dat dere tirty point buck yet?I give up- why is it so windy in Wisconsin?I am good Wolvie. Watching the Buckeyes has been an exercise in patience- which leaves me shutout. My son's team is my favorite Mad Dog. They finished the regular season undefeated. He scored his first two touchdowns ever-drug two defenders nine yards at the end of a thirty yard run on the second one- everybody knew who he belonged to from the yelling I did. They are off to play in a national tournament over Thanksgiving. Pretty cool.have a good dayhub

          96. Mad_Dog | Nov 14, 2001 03:06am | #100

*Because Minnesota blows, and Michigan sucks..Congratulations on your son's team. Hope he stays with it.MD

*MDBreaking News...I recieved an email this afternoon, possible you could varify the info below.LOL!The NFL announced today that for financial reasons, they had to eliminate one team from the league. So they've decided to combine the Green Bay Packers and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and form one team, therefore saving jobs. They will be known as the TAMPACKS. Unfortunately, they're only good for one period and have no second string.

          98. Mad_Dog | Nov 15, 2001 04:01pm | #102

            *LOL

*MD, where ya at buddy? The Pack almost gave the Lions a big "W", my B-I-L is a huge GB fan (his garage is a floor to ceiling yellow and green painted shrine), and I was givin em hell in the 4th qrt. at our Thanksgiving dinner. It's lonely at the top.Go Bears!

          101. Mad_Dog | Nov 27, 2001 03:16am | #105

*I'm sure it won't be lonely too long...

Great week for Wisconsin football, unlike last week. Badgers spot Ohio State 17 points, come back to win, deja vu to last visit there. Packers dominate the super bowl champ Ravens. Gotta like it. How're your teams doing?
