I posted this last Sat and it just disappeared. Wazzup wid dat?
Anyways,
I just picked up an old coal forge, in marginal condition, with a mounted Champion blower, in primo condition. The forge pan is stamped steel, prolly 12 ga or so, no holes, but thin in spots.
My question- what can I do to get some more life from the pan and try to prevent burn thru? I’m thinkin refractory cement? Perlite? BBQ grill lava rock? Your thoughts would be appreciated.

It dissappeared because no one has an answer to your question.
As new threads are posted or replied too, your query slides down the totem pole. Eventually, it slid completely off the first screen.
