Thought you guys might get a kick out of this one.
Went to the site first thing this morning to meet with Framers. I ask them if they think they will finish up pickup list today and be outa there. Lead gives me a real dejected, yeah we’ll be done today. “Whats wrong”, I say. He says that he can’t start his next job because they are tearing out the foundation to start over today. “What?”, I say. Apparently the builder gave the found. sub a reverse plan that was supposed to get flipped. It didn’t get flipped.
Houston, we have a problem. – I would like to be a fly on the wall when that one gets discussed at the home office.

Funnily enough we had a GC around here put the foundation on the wrong lot, it was a little further down the road than expected I guess. I don't know what happened in the end, but someone looked foolish.
Some years ago I went out on a mountain lot and set some "close stakes" to get an idea of what the foundation would cost. got the plat from the eng. firm that did the sub. Some time past. didn't get the job. got a call from a builder who had built the house to those stakes. 12 feet on the neighbors lot. ( seems it had been re-subbed ) tryed to make me feel responsible, LOL. Jim Devier

I am always on site when we establish an elevation and set forms.
We are custom builders, but once had a full fledged landscaping and backyard improvements part of our company. We got a call from a pool builder who asked us to install about $50,000.00 in landscaping, custom bordered terraced flower beds and railroad tie landscape steps down to a lake past a new pool they had built.
After starting the project, we found out that our landscape / improvement package was compensation to the HO from the pool company becasue the HO accepted the fact that the pool was installed backwards. We also learned that it was the second time the pool company had installed a pool backward.
Think that is bad?
How would you like it if you had the building framed up? Local builder had to do a tear down. Somehow the building was built reverse. Not sure exactly what happened but I think the front door was facing the alley and the rear faced the street.
Demo company came in and cleaned up.Have not wanted to ask too many questions

Hard to say who is paying for this one. Foundation? Framer? Builder? Bet there is a bit of finger pointing going on
