I’ve got a question about leveling a foundation crown in the center of a living room for floor installation. There is ~1/2”-3/4” crown in the center of the living room which prevented the floor installers from going ahead with the install. They said it was outside their tolerances. There are 2 plugs in the high spot. I’m wondering what the best way to level this would be. My thought was rent a concrete grinder from Home Depot and work it over the ~4’x4’ area until it’s level, only issue is the outlets in the floor. Is the best way to handle this jackhammer them out and lower them into the foundation a bit then once the floor is leveled back fill with concrete to the proper height? Will the 10” concrete grinders from HD be able to grind up to 3/4”? Any suggestions or advice is appreciated.

Diamond blade on the biggest angle grinder you can find or chipping gun. Bring the crowns down to below the surrounding areas then use self leveling compound to smooth out the area.
I've ground a lot of concrete and a nine inch angle grinder with a good diamond coated blade will take that 4x4 area down 1/2" in a relatively short amount of time. Remember to rent a vacuum with it because the dust will be extensive and I recommend you use a full-face mask not just a respirator. Your idea for lowering the outlets sounds like a good idea however, I agree with Sawdust about using the floor leveling compound.
