Our house was constructed on expansive soils and as a result the foundation has lifted in the front and back. We are satisfied that we do not have any water leaks and that the soil is responding to natural changes in moisture. The question is how do we fix the problem or in other words hold the foundation in a fixed position so that we can repair the numerous dry wall cracks. Thanks for any help.

Shrink/swell soils are a problem in our area. I'd start by contacting a geotechnical engineering firm. Before you can come up with a fix, you're gonna need a soil analysis and a study of the existing footings. The "natural changes in moisture" in the soil need to be addressed and minimized. I wouldn't spend too much effort on drywall cracks until the foundation is stabilized.

To do it right you should definately hire an engineer.
What type of foundation do you have? Is it a flat slab, waffle slab (with grade beams), post tensioned slab?
