Looking for framming gun recommendations. Used for light framing, nailing subfloor down, and the like.
I know Mike Smith and dieselpig like
Hitachi NV83A2, but $379 is a bit more than I want to spend.

I bought a NV83A2 used on Ebay for $149, and have to admit it is fantastic. It looks like hammered dog pooh, but works great. I've framed 2 large bars with it, and it's a world apart from the Paslode I had been using.

Stacy's mom has got it going on.
Definitely check ebay if you can wait. Also look at the Makita coil framer
There will be a framing coil nailer review in next months JLC.
Right now our favorite gun is the Hitachi NV83A2 hands down. The only downside compared to the Makita is the lack of belt hook, but we buy Dead On Tools belt hook and it makes the Hitachi the best gun.

I like the Bostich because you can shoot Teco nails with the same gun simply by changing the nose (might take 4 seconds). I think I paid $225 for mine a few years ago at a JLCLive! show.
The Bostich has a MUCH better price tag on it. Have you used this Hitachi devil that everyone seems to be raving about? Do you like the Bostich over it?

No, the only coil guns I've ever used were roofing guns. But the Hitachi guns that I HAVE used were solid, dependable, well designed tools.
That Bostich is pretty heavy, but I don't use it all day like a professional framer might. I really like the versitility of it and it has plenty of sock. I just wish they could somehow design a shorter cylinder on those framing guns; virtually all of them are monsters.
If you are a part time framer and ever need to drive Teco nails by the box (like us builders here in earthquake prone areas) that Bostich is well worth a look. Even if it doesn't prove as durable as the Hitachi, you get two guns in one.
Then again, maybe other manufacturers have designed a similar multi purpose gun by now. I don't keep up with the latest stuff that closely.
I vote for the Hitachi NV83A2, got one an addition and a couple of decks ago.I've been a Senco man just about since the dawn of air nailers. My first Senco framing gun is the size of a VW Rabbit. The Hitachi is light enuff, doesn't jam any more often than normal & it's swell having 300 nails a load instead of 50. Wish it had sequential option is all. Any way I got mine as reconditioned thru my local lbr. yd.They deal with a regional Hitachi repair place. $299.00 with 1 yr warranty. Rock on. Norskeboy
