Hello everyone,
I need some help with a connector for a framing project.
I plan on framing a nonstructural bay window and because of the nominal sizes of the windows a need to eliminate the trim studs, leaving me with the option of installing a hanger for the headers.Does anyone what the hanger is called (one that substitute for the trim studs).
Thanks in advance for any input.

Have you looked over at Simpsons Site ?
I don't know the name of them, but when I was building Lindal Cedar Homes......they never left room for windows and sent out brackets..maybe 3/16 thick x 3 wide x 8 long bent in the middle at 90 degrees......
they bolted to the post (same as king stud) and carried the header. This always passed inspection.
thanks a lot , since you said they are code compliant
don't just take my word for it check with your local yokel inspector......but Lindal is a national company so they usually are good anywheres.
Simpson's is called a "header hanger" and is listed as HH4 or HH6.
They work good, but you have to remember they're in there when you start shooting nails at your casing...
