Customer called me with bathroom pipes freezing. The pipes are in an uninsulated wall behind the vanity. I’m thinking of drilling or cuts holes into the vanity to allow access to the cavity/ies for insulation, but I was wondering what my best option would be. The area of pipe that needs to be insulated is not that large, due to the fact that I insulated the Kitchen below during the summer.
Thanks.

move them to the inside of the wall and insulate the wall before ya close it back up..

Well, the wall is not open. The pipes are behind a vanity.
Well here we go with different climates I guess.
An uninsulated wall should be an interior wall. No one insulates interior walls here . Run heat in the house.
An exterior wall thats not/ oh boy. How old is this house? Ya gotta go in and insulate it and do the drywall thing or bring it inside like Imerg said under the vanity. But again heat would help.
Im getting a feeling we are being set up .<G> Is it a vacation house?

This is good ol' Cincinnati, Ohio. The house is probably at least 100 years old. She was told by a coworker to drill holes into the rear of the cabinet and fill the cavity with vermiculite. I'm just trying to figure out the most cost effective way to do this for her as she's had to do a ton of work to this house since she's moved in.
there is no cheap way... unless you install heat tapes...
but tose in a wall and you both better have yur insurances paid up...
add it to the list of things to be done

so pull the vanity..
open the wall...
move the pipes...
the vanity will hide the pipes...
put it all back together again... with insulation in the walls...
this lady is trying to heat her house and doesn't have insulation in the walls...
where is this job... nothing in the profile...
