I’m installing a 3 door french door unit in my home. This might sound silly but I have to carry this unit about 60 yards to it’s installation location. It’s very heavy and awkward so I was wondering, How many hands would you think I would need to make this move safely? Is there a certain technique to use to make the move easier? The terrain is quite bumpy and you can really only have one guy on each end to carry the door upright ( which is to heavy) and then anyone else would really just be steadying the door, ya’ know? would I be compromising the door by carrying it flat (horizontally) with a coulpe of guys on each end and then dropping the bottom on the sole plate and tipping it in? (that’s my plan for now). Also the sole plate sits about 1/4″ above the finished tile floor, is there a good way to finish that inside for a nice clean look? I’m not one of those “caulk it up” guys. Thanks for any advice.
