yeah Bob, those teflon coated blades are sweet-this one left this end grain maple virtually polished- a Freud 15" 108 tooth atb with a +5 degree hook-the only blade I run that isn't FS Tool
*Pro, I think that you are biased becuase the red blade matches your Milwalkee worm drive so well. Actually, I love the Freud blades for our 8 1/4 sliding miter saw-I need to them a try in other saws.
*Brad-I can't pick up a Milwalkee.I do think the blade looks cool on my (Skill Mag)Though.Customers say "Man, where do you get blades like that?" Bob
*Boy, ya had to go and put that cool blade on a SIDEWINDER! Just ruined the whole mood (lol)Is that three nail/screw indentions I see trying to poke their way out the side of that lumber? (snicker snicker)Just kidding. Cool looking blade!James DuHamel
*I've started using the TK103 (16T 7.25") - looks like yours, sans the red coating - it's amazing to see how it cuts through really wet PT without binding or bogging.
*How long do those blades last you, Bob? What do they cost? Do you get them resharpened, or chuck 'em?
*So you went 'n put a good blade like that on a right handed saw, wassup with that. Gotta 10" Freud red combo on my unisaw and DeWalt portable, smooth,no burn, easily as good as the Forresst I spent twice as much on.Freud sucks on my miter saws, but you gotta check it all out.Find someone who sells Tenryu framing bldes, you won't be dissapointed.
*He's probably righthanded, like normal folks. Been using Freud teflon blades for crosscutting in my miter box and radial arm saw for well over 10 years now. Best value I've found. Great blades, WAY cheaper than Forrest, resharpen nicely, . Still haven't tried a Tenryu, but for thin kerf I really like Matsuchida. Now, THAT'S a good name.
*Jim- the blades run about $15.00 each. I bought ten so I could get the free tee shirt and ten percent off. These I get resharpened, the Dewalts I just toss but I only pay $5-6 bucks for them.Bob
*I haven't seen A blade like that before, and I thought I had seen most of them. Where did you get it at?
*Will- Any lumber store will order them for you. I ordered these from BMC West.Item # tkr103
*James, what sidewinder? that's a wormie those wierdos on the left coast use. and beside the nails, is that tearout on the side from that blade?
*I haven't tried the teflons on my sidewinder but I had used some on my table saw. had, being the operative word. every blade cleaner I find says not to use it on teflon, and I found out after not heeding that warning. it gums the teflon up something fierce. I run Freud blades on the tablesaw but no teflon. Bob, how do you clean your blades?
*The saw in the picture is not Bob's saw. I saw a few pictures a while back of what I thought was his saw, and it was a skill sidewinder. I see by his post, though, that his saw is a skill mag, and not a sidewinder after all. I actually use a Porter Cable left handed sidewinder. I was just ribbing him about the blade and the sidewinder anyway. James DuHamel
*PC right blade here.
