It doesn’t usually get that cold in my garage, but we had quite a few days in the single digits and It was enough to freeze the paints and joint compound that I keep there.
I will re-mix and decide on each can of paint. The joint compound (plus 3) mixed up quite nicely after it thawed out and by all appearances, is as good as new, but I dare not use it if I’m risking a call-back. So, is it any good?

if there's any question of its quality, throw it out and get new.
like you said, its not worth a call back.
maybe try it out on a scrap to see how it dries and holds.
Let's see...........$13.00 less what you have used out of the pail so far.............
Save the bucket, toss the compound.
Would you use it in your house??

Been there, done that, it didn't do well at all.
Chunk it and get some good stuff.
Once frozen, it is never the same no matter how well it seems to mix up.

Out it goes. Thanks for all the replies.
I would have just chucked it without asking if I had a good way of getting rid of this kind of stuff, but I'll figure something out. In fact, I think I have some condo work coming up.

The freezing and thawing of the joint compound can happen three times..after that it's no good. When it's brought from the factory to the distributor/retailer it comes in open top tractor/trailers., and it does freeze. It has three lives!
