I was in Lowes yesterday and they had 2 frued routers on sale. One was 3 1/4 horse plunge router for $129 and the other was 2 1/4 horse router with the above table adjustment for a router table for $169. I’ve never used any of frueds power tools or known anyone who has ,are they any good?
Iwas thinking $129 wasn’t a bad price ,maybe i would give it a try . I just don’t want a piece of junk.

Everything I've had with the Frued name on it has been great.
Never tried one of their routers, though.
I recall reading a suprisingly less than glowing review fairly recently of their routers, but seems like a good price.
Everything but their routers and a I hope defunct slidesaw. When I first retired I got a job at Woodworkers Warehouse. We sold Freud tools and accesories. I had to talk people out of both the router and slidesaw, got tired of the returns.Never actually used either tool.I generally tried to sell only what I knew was a quality tool. Most of the routers I sold were PC, Bosch and Makita. People seemed to like the Hitachi 3hp router for an inexpensive tool, no returns on them that I recall.

At $129 for a 3 1/2 plunge router made by Freud I'd buy it.
It might not be as good as my Bosch plunge but hell, that price seams low.
