Thinking about making a piece of furniture for my computer. I don’t like surfing siting down at a desk. Thought about making a 2′ x 2′ base with 2 x 4’s. Cover it with oak and fill the base with concrete.
Before filling the base with concrete, screw down an iron pipe flange (2″) and screw in a 6″ nipple. Add a longer pipe when the concrete sets Cover everyting with oak trim. Cover the pipe in a simple oak box
At the top of the pipe ( 30″)attach another flange. Don’t tighten pipe flange to much so it can swivel. Attach a thick piece of oak to the flange and place the computer monitor to the oak. Screw down from underneith the monitor stand. Place the computer on the base. Attach some wheels to the base so it can roll a little bit.
Now place the stand next to your easy chair and swivel the arm in and out when your in your Lazy Boy. Surf BT laying back in your Lazy Boy….
What do you think??? any ideas for improverments. Wish I could draw, I’d attach a picture.

I got the laptop on a TV tray /table that slides over to where I am , when I'm relaxing and watching TV at the same time, simple and handy.

Sounds like a lot of work. Don't you have a big flat screen TV? You can hook your computer up to that for a display. Get a Bluetooth mouse and key board, sit back and relax.
Beat it to fit / Paint it to match
Sounds like the tables they serve that nasty hospital food on.

While you're at it whip up something to fire doughnuts into your mouth while you're sitting there in your Wallace and Grommit command center and you're all set.
You are better off with a keyboard with a built in mouse, and a monitor stand arm with a long reach. Better yet, just get a laptop... they can be had for $400 these days.
