I have one of those. That identical torch.
I extended the tip with three sections of 1/8 steel pipe.
The mechanism in the handle is shot. Has been since about 6 months after I got it. (3 or 4 years ago.) I have to regulate it by twisting the knob on top, the valve with the lever doesn't work.
I just checked. Mine is the one made in italy.
Pops and I bought one at the same time. Actually, about two weeks apart. He apparently got one of the ones made in China, because his hose has been split badly for a while now. I was wondering why his split out like that, and mine was still ok.
I'll tell him about the recall. Maybe he'll get a new one out of it.
