Curious if anyone has a good site where you can figure the angles and lengths of all the roof components for a gambrel roof. I’m assisting a buddy on a large shed he’s building, and neither of us have ever built a barn style roof. I’m sure I can fumble my way through it, but I’d like some professional tips for designing and constructing this type of roof. Any advice or assistance would be appreciated. Thanks. Doc

the basic starting point for gambrels is that the 5 points of the roof all fall on the circumference of an arc..
you can deviate from that starting point with various amounts of success..

I did a search for framing gambrel roofs, was "testing" to see if there where anymore replies to this thread. Wasn't sure how things worked "around here".
