I have an alley carriage house I use as a garage that has no clearance for an overhead door, little clearance in the alley for outward swinging doors, and is in an historic district so appearances are important.. I find tons of overhead doors that look like Carriage house doors, but does anyone make a trifold, bifold (horizontal or vertical) or carriage-style swinging door, or have other suggestions for a door (7′ x 15′) that solves my particular situation?
Thanks for your help… Bill

A SUGGESTION WOULD BE A SLIDING BARN STYLE DOOR WITH A CARRIAGE HOUSE FLAIR. USUALLY THEY WILL WORK IF YOU HAVE ENOUGH WALL SPACE TO EITHER SIDE OF THE DOOR OPENING FOR THE TRACK SYSTEM. IF NOT OUT SWING DOORS WOULD BE THE OTHER AVENUE. I HAVE SEEN A QUICK DROP OR LOW CLEARANCE TRACK FOR OVERHEAD DOORS BUT I DO NOT BELIEVE THEY WOULD WORK IN A ZERO CLEARANCE APPLICATION. THERE IS A OUTFIT THAT BUILDS CARRIAGE HOUSE UNITS CALLED HAHN'S WOOD WORKINGG CO.NC. H. (908) 241-8825 OR WEB @ HAHNSWOODWORKING.COM GOOD LUCK !
*You might take a look at:http://www.BARNPLANS.COM/bifolddoors.htmlThe website sells plans for bi-fold barn doors for $25. I have not seen any of their plans so can't comment on how good or how complicated they are.
