Garage door track fastening/trim method
What is the cleanest looking and most robust method of installing a garage door track where the interior of the garage will be finished with drywall in the future. I am thinking about using a piece of 1x material under the attachment area of the track and butting the drywall to this and screwing the drywall to the trimmer rather than the king stud. Is there a more refined way to go about this? Thanks!

I'd install strips of drywall where the hardware will be mounted. Then mount the hardware over the drywall strips. Make the strips large enough so that when the rest of the drywall is hung, you have enough room to tape and finish the seams.
