Where can I find detailed plans for a single car garage build? I would like to get plans that I can present with the application for a building permit.

You used to be able to get them at a full service lumberyard.
I would imagine you could find them at a box store.
You certainly should be able to find them online.
However, you may have to fine tune them to get them passed by your inspection office. To do this, go ask them what they require.
You might be surprised that all you really need is a simple line drawing with dimensions, some framing details like header sizes and/or a truss detail (available from the manufacturer).
Inspection should also be real forthcoming and be able to give you with your Application for Permit, a "form" drawing that you fill in the numbers. At the least, an elevation sketch that you fill in footing size/thickness, type of foundation (block or poured wall), plates and lumber size.
Have you called or visited inspection?
Yep, any lumberyard would have them or know where to get them.
The Soil Conservation Service, now the Natural Resource Conservation Service, used to have a bunch of standard drawings for farm buildings, from houses to chicken coops, available for free.
I haven't checked in about three years, but they still had them online then. YOu may have to callyour local state office, to get a link.
