Saw an in-progress job last week in which the two-car garage floor slab had a trench drain with grate, wall to wall across both bays, maybe 18 inches inside the garage door wall line. The drain outlet came through the sidewall of the garage, to daylight.
We are in deep-freeze country here, and some folks with garage floors that slope out the doors have had their doors freeze to the slabs from the slush runs. I guess maybe a trench drain might stop that.
If you have used a good trench drain product in a garage, tell us about it. I’ll see what was used on that job I saw, and report back.

I used an Aco pre-sloped product for the driveway *in front* of my garage door. I was very pleased with how it turned out, given that my fiance and I are amateurs. I did the design work and researched sources for the pre-cast drain. We both cut the concrete, he got a garden variety laborer to help him dig, and he found a day laborer with concrete and foundation experience to manage the pour.
We didn't use chairs or rebar to set the drain in the trench, we suspended it from 2x4's across it -- that is, the grate-fastening bolts were passed through the 2x4s straddling the trench, and the grates, through to the bars on the inside that secure the grates to the drain pieces. We (well, my fiance, I wasn't there when they did the actual pour) didn't weigh down the 2x4's, so there was a little bit of annoyance with floating, but that could have easily been prevented.
I think they poured the concrete in one lift, and then a thin finish layer with more sand in it when it had set up a bit but was still green.
You can get Aco (and other similar pre-cast trench drain products) on the web, but it was much cheaper for me to get it at the local White Cap.
I'll see if I can dig up my thread where I posted pictures.
[edit] Ah, here it is: http://forums.taunton.com/n/mb/message.asp?webtag=tp-breaktime&msg=47819.1 The pictures are at the end of the thread.

My neck of the woods, if you have a trench drain inside the garage (& maybe even in the driveway) the AHJ makes you run the drain through an oil trap....
