I would like to build a garbage enclosure for (2) 30 gallon plastic garbage cans. Every enclosure I have seen is just a basic box. Isn’t there a good looking plan that shows a little class? Any help or info sure would be appreciated.

Now here's a topic for FH garbage enclosures! I build 1 or 2 of these a year. I've built only one with any class whatsoever. That one was a 3 sided enclosure with one common wall to the building. The walls were about 3-1/2' high and cedar sided and painted to match the building. The gate was also built of the cedar siding and had a stainless steel doorknob. Poured concrete slab as base.
What did you have in mind a roofed enclosure? Perhaps a little gazebo for garbage?

*Frank, how bout this?hope this helps ;-)
*
How is the door hinged on this?
*joe d I have a roofed one now, separate from the house. It is on the front line of sight before you even see the house, and it's ugly. I am not a very good designer. A gazebo certainly would look nice.FrankS

Frank... do u want to build one , or do you just need one....i've built about ten of them over the years... and i would go to the lumber yard and buy one of the Rubbermaid ones.. they're pretty slick and no maintenance and low cost.....
then i'd go build the one JimL shows for the recycling bin....

Mike
I would like to build one, jiml's is pretty but kinda out of place in the mountains.

JimL - what a nice front lawn you have! But, um, where are all the flowering shrubs and such?
*Good thinking Frank,Local garbage vernacular is of course in the forefront of design.BTW, that place wouldn't look too out of place around here, wonder what it would cost to move it?
*What mountains are you in? If Adirondack, you could build a real period piece. Have it framed in the form of your favorite mantel style, maybe some fluted columns (doric or maybe ionic) up the sides, some detail work across the middle-Or go craftsman. The doors would look especially good with some leaded glass, maybe some inlaid patterns.I'll bet Martha's got a really cool design you could "borrow," just didn't know if you were neighbors or not.Give us some direction Frank. We're with you all the way.MD
*gotta take a drive by some old jobs...i'll bring yu some pics....rude & crude..
*....here's one from 1984...built into the deck stairs...
*and here's one from 1974 with a sliding bar closure....
