I’m in the midst of building an outdoor fireplace (wood burning) that will have a drop-in grill directly adjacent to it. Does any one know code information on something like this. I live in a very rural area where my inspector is a retired accountant and no one seems to have the information I need. I want this to be safe but am not sure excatly how I should keep the gas safely away from the fireplace without moving them.

Around here they extend the "10 foot rule" to that.
Tank can't be within 10' of the flame.
Thanks. The tank is not a problem - buried tank about 75' feet away. I'm concerned about the line itself and the fireplace next it.
I'm not quite sure what your problem is? I just completed a project that had an outside wood burning fireplace and a wood burning firepit with LP gas starters. You will have a gas line feeding your grill which is a open flame and an open flame is an open flame. Unless your gas line is running through your wood burning fireplace firebox I don't see what the difference is between the installations. If you get a leak in the gas line near the grill or the fireplace I don't think it will make any difference to the leaking gas which flame makes it go BOOM. Seriously, check with your LP gas provider. They usually are up on these things and know what the local requirements are.
