Hello all,
I am wanting to run a black gas supply line from the crawlspace into the attic. Is it frowned upon to run the line in a wall cavity? There will not be any joints in the line in the wall cavity.

The electrical hookup is only one part of the equation; when installing a hot tub, there are a number of key requirements to keep in mind.

Perfectly OK
How else would you get it up there?
My vague recollection is that it must be iron pipe (or some other material that is equally resistant to puncture) and there must be no joints. All joints must be theoretically accessible.
Yes must be iron pipe, but joints are ok in concealed spaces if everything pressure tests ok. There are restriction on where unions can go even in accessible spaces such as attics and basements, and even in exposed work they must have a valve. Right-Left unions are ok anywhere. (A nipple with a left hand and right hand thread and a corresponding coupler.) Iron pipe may not be run under a slab except to an island appliance. In this case the iron pipe must be run inside of ABS or PVC. No propane may be run to an island.
