Hi everyone. I am in the midst of a bath reno involving a jetted tub. The tub requires 4 circuits, 3 need to be protected by GFCI breakers. I will be running the tub from a sub panel drawing off a 40A DP breaker at the main panel. The sub will also supply the lights, fan and 240v floor heat.
Question is this: Can I protect the entire subpanel by replacing the 40A DP at the main panel with an equivilent GFCI and then use appropriately sized standard breakers at the sub panel into the tub?
Or am I required to use separate GFCI’s in the sub-panel?
Any guidance is helpful.
Cheers,
David

This strikes me as something that is best asked of the local inspecting authority (it wil be inspected, right?).
Those breakers are expensive, and it's a pretty straightforward question, so you might as well get it right the first time.
Each circuit
If your big GFCI trips and cuts out the whole panel you'll lose your lights too. That's a big no no.
