Hey anybody out there have any suggestions…
I have to get a General Contractor and his Finish Carpenter each a gift. I want to get them a tool that is out of the ordinary and not too expensive ($50 to $75). Do you guys have any favorite gadget, hi-tech or simple that you can’t do without? Or do you know of the latest invention that you would love to have yourself?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions,
Paul

If they don't have one of these, they'll love you...
Winterlude by the telephone wire,
Winterlude, it's makin' me lazy,
Come on, sit by the logs in the fire.
The moonlight reflects from the window
Where the snowflakes, they cover the sand.
Come out tonight, ev'rything will be tight,
Winterlude, this dude thinks you're grand.
Yeah holly, if they don't have nothin' then that little winterlude will do just fine.A Great Place for Information, Comraderie, and a Sucker Punch.

Most carps would love to have a set (red and blue) of Tajima chalk lines. ($50) Finish carps love the blue version with optional ultra thin line.

In the $75 range the best gift, if they don't have one, would be a Lie Nelson iron block plane. These are braggin' good and a great value. Most Lie Nelson addictions probably start with this little gem and it's a great finish carp working tool.

Then there might be a Lie Nelson screwdriver for $45. It doesn't add any additional functionality over a $10 screwdriver handle, but it sure looks and feels nice.

I wouldn't mind if someone put a Sterret combination square in my stocking ($50-$70).
