Hi all,
I am installing some glass tile and since it is semi-transparent it seemed best to have the new drywall behind the tile painted white to provide an even white background for maximum color reflection. My question is how long should I let the latex paint cure before adhering the tile?
Thanks in advance for your thoughts!

I think standard dry time for the product would be fine. If there is any moisture it should go to the back of the drywall, but I hope the drywall had its dry time before you painted?

Says you.
Did you read the instructions that came with the tile? I've done one glass tile job.
Instructions were very specific, setting materials proprietary.
I wouldn't tile over paint.........maybe primer.
Why are you using drywall anyway?

Firebird...The tile supplier recommended a good quality thin set with admixture.
Why drywall? Initially there was no tile specified in this area of the kitchen so that is what we are going to work with.
Applying on unfinished drywall did not seem like a good idea as there would be the possibility of a blotchy look behind the semi-transparent tile. Sez me.Tom
If you do a proper job of spreading the thinset, and if you embed the tiles well, no paint will show through. Be sure to use white thinset. It costs about $3 a bag more.
I'm sorry, I thought you wanted it done the right way.
