About a hunnert years ago DW and I were driving through Vermont and bought a painted slate in a country stors in some little town. It has survived many moves. DW took it off the wall to display Hallowwen stuff, layed it on the floor under the sofa, and when she brought it back out one corner is broken. So how can I fix it? I’m thinking about glueing a thin piece of ply over the entire back, holding it back maye 3/8″ from the edges. What kind of glue? Or is there a better way?

Go get some, it dries clear.
Ok, maybe TB2, but don't have coffee nerves and slobber it all over the paint.
Used to be you could make a passable glue with eggs, I forget the proportions.
In county jail I stuck matches and quarters under the flat horiz. cell bars with toothpaste.

I've glued stone with loctite instant glue... but it won't work on real art<G>http://www.tvwsolar.com

I'd epoxy it, but don't get it on front. Or Elmers white, if any gets where it shouldn't it'll wipe off with a damp rag.
