I’m looking for a used work truck/van or whatever you call it. Specifically one that looks like what’s in the attached pic. except with a rack on top. Does anyone know of a good source for finding this type of vehicle used?

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming

Auto auction if you know someone with a dealers license. I know that around the twin cities there are quite a few dealers who carry trucks like this. They get them from the auctions. You may also try ebay.
In Oregon, a dealer's license is not required to buy a vehicle for personal use at an auto auction. I purchased a 1967 Chevy Suburban a couple of years ago at an auto auction. However, to find that type of vehicle, you might have better luck at a heavy equipment auction. There are several in the Portland, OR, area that I have attended that have a large collection of trucks from pickups through 18 wheelers as well as good used Stepvans. Most of the utility companies and county governments sell their used vehicles through such auctions in my area. You should be able to locate such auctions through a Google search.
There's a couple of truck dealers around here (KY) that buy fleets and resell them when they're taken out of service. I'd suspect there's one of these lots somewhere near you. They don't seem to advertise in the newspapers and not too much in the autotrader type mags. They've got a pretty strong internet presence, though.
