Has anyone used it ?
Is it worth it ?
“And, in my humble view, neither Democratic nor Republican party politics has anything to do with lib or con anymore. It’s now just pandering to the visceral hatred that’s been bred amongst those who refuse to waste their time and energy performing one of the singular most difficult tasks known to man: thinking.” -SHG

Who needs gorilla tape when ya gots Duck tape? Why not Rhino tape or Elephant tape. Ducks are pretty easy to tape, but I'm not ever trying to tape a Gorilla. And taping Rhinos and Elephants is just plain total insanity I tell you.
Just proves that old saying:
'You can tape a gorilla, but you can't tuna fish'The heck, you say?
They have a roll on the counter at the lumberyard. I picked it up for a second and it seemed incredibly hard to pull a piece off the roll. I suppose an HVAC guy might find it useful, but they mostly use aluminum tape nowadays.
They sent some to our office. I have used it once so far (to temporarily tape an extension cord to the basement ceiling)--it worked fine. If the price is similar it might be worth a buy.

I have seen it on sale and saw where a friend used it. Looked pretty stout. After a few days in the sun it was pretty hard to remove so I would consider it semi-permanent. Probably too stout for most of what I need duct tape on regularly, mostly large wire pulls, light duty repairs and simple bundling.
On the up side I hear it may become the all-purpose repair and patch tape of choice for some off roaders and, from at least one couple, for overseas third world relief missions. As I understand it from one enthusiastic off road madman this stuff is even better than the best military grade duct tapes.
Supposed to be tougher, stickier and almost as durable as the radiator hose it is patching. I suspect the military may be looking into this stuff, or similar, pretty soon. The military, especially the SOGs now buy a lot of stuff right off the shelf. Seems like it might be ideal for stuffing a couple of rolls into the emergency tool bag.
I can see where this stuff might more than pay for itself in areas where your your 60 miles from safety and your broken down with 100 screaming maniacs swarming down the mountain toward you. Slap a few turns round the radiator hose, piss in the tank and drive out smartly.
That sort of 'there I was' situation is not a good time to find out someone saved a couple of bucks by buying the discount, no-name tape that you can't get to stick.
Might also be good for your Tom Ridge kit. Every patriotic American is supposed to have the kit ready. That duct tape and plastic sheeting might not keep the nerve gas and radiation out but it makes cleaning up and reselling the houses a lot easier.
Americans have to learn to be be more considerate and less self centered. From now on anyone who is going to die in a disaster will kindly place themselves in a trash bag before expiring. If you pull the excess in after you you can tape up the end from inside. The corporation which gets the contract to clean up the bodies, likely KBR if Cheney has anything to do with it, would like to thank you in advance for your forethought and consideration.
Have a nice day
Have you seen the 3M electrician's bundling tape? Looks like duct tape at first glance, but tears off the roll much more easily, removes easily and doesn't leave gooey residue after months in the sun. There are no electrons! It is all made up. Don't believe it.
Electricity is made by GREENIES.
Way back when used to use "book binding tape" for doing up cables. Probably similar to the "bundling tape".
--------------
No electrons were harmed in the making of this post.
The 3M bundling tape has a place, bundling. We don't buy much of it though because on a service truck there is little room to spare and we just don't do enough bundling to justify a tape to do just that. A good quality duct tape tears a little less smoothly and might leave some stickum but it is also tough enough to make a durable and smooth pulling head. Inserting a rip wire, a length of steel wire, into the head before it is made up makes it come apart relatively easily when needed.
The last time I used it the doggone gorilla got loose and almost killed me. The gorilla glue couldn't hold 'em either.
Sorry Luka, I couldn't resist...
