Got Cordless Makita 7.2v – 14.4v?
If you do, then go and get their high capacity charger model DC1439. Costs around $100 and works on Nicad and NiMh batteries.
I charged my batteries with it and it made a huge improvement.
It charges them quickly and the batteries don’t get anywhere near as warm compared to the charger that is standard issue. That should translate to longer battery life.
Free shipping at Amazon for now on that item.

Just discovered it myself and picked one up new in package on Ebay for $55 or so. Great to have the batteries ready in about 15 minutes - and if it makes them last longer then that's cool to.
