Hello
First time post.
A friend wants to put grab/safety rails in her tub. Problem is the horizontal rail for the side of the tub is on an outside wall. There is tile, the sheetrock, then a gap and finally outer concrete block wall. The vertical rail will be on an inside wall and there is tile then sheetrock. I can locate a stud where the rail will be. The studs are metal. Is there a safe and secure way to fasten both grab/safety rails in this tub?

In some cases Wingits ( http://www.wingits.com/wingits-fastening-systems.html ) are quite helpful, but for the masonry wall a better approach is a round bracket that you attach to the masonary via rougly 2" hole in the surface finish, then adjust it in or out to be flush (it's threaded) and attach the bar. (Something like this: http://www.adaptiveaccess.com/solidmount.php though this version doesn't seem too substantial.)
Moen has come up with a new anchor for attmnt of grab bars, towell bars etc. Take a look to see if they might work for you.
