I’m moving a 3-way switch from one side of the wall, to the other, (the old location is actually outside the room where the lights are, so I’m moving it into the room, next to the passage door). The new box is side by side with the old one.
The old box has the ground wire clipped to the metal box, but that would be pointless on the plastic remodeler box.
So, where should I connect the ground wire?

There will be a green grounding screw on the new switch. Connect it to that screw. You are buying a new switch.....aren't you???
Make sure all of your grounding conductors are connected before you connect the pigtail to the device.
