I installed 12 x 12 tile in a shower several weeks ago, with a mortar bed/membrane/tile floor. The homeowners used the shower a few times, and the gout at the joint between the wall and the floor darkened as though it were wet, even though I sealed it. They haven’t used it for a couple of weeks so it could dry and I could seal it again. The darkening hasn’t gone away, but it has slowly moved along the joint. As far as I know, I did everything according to the Michael Byrne book. What might be discoloring my grout?
