I am wondering if NON POLYMERIZED sanded floor grout still exists. I cant stand the latex modified stuff for some installatons. Cleaning the haze is a real drag. I just installed over 250 sq ft of a cheap (Home Depot) slate floor supplied by client and i doubt any amount of sealer will keep the tiles from hazing up and I’m not interested in scrubbing this thing for days. I remember old time sanded floor grout that cleaned up very easily. Any possible info. for me. Need medium to dark grey. Thanks for all or anything. David

Hydroment still has unmodified.
Consider using a grout bag.

Much thanks. Now I'll see if I can locate a supplier for Hydroment. Once again thanks. David
Grout bag is the only way to go. get yourself a pro set of cake decorating nozzles from a chi-chi cooking store or online. the assortment of tips allows you to get just the right size bead of grout and gives something to hold onto for more control. put your bead in just proud of the tiles; let it partially set and then strike the joints with a brick striker or something else without to much curve. wipe carefully with a sponge. many an ugly cleanup before I stopped doing things the hard way. good luck.
You should apply some kind of sealer on the tiles before you set them. Give the sealer a day to cure. The stuff called impregnator works good. It will make grout cleanup much easier. I mix grout with minimal water. I like it to be slightly crumbly. It is much stronger that way. You can not use a grout bag with stiff grout. When it is runny enough to use a bag then it often shrinks and cracks and makes more of a mess. I would strongly recommend against using a bag.
