Any jackass can kick down a barn, but it takes a carpenter to build one.

In China the workers get paid less than a $1.00 an hour, no pension, no workman comp or health benefits. The factory can air pollute and dump with no restrictions. They serve boiling tea so you wont get hepatitis from the water. I wonder how much inventory Walmart would have if only stuff from China was removed?
Was talking to a buddy from Pakistan at work and he told me a finish carpenter working in a city there could expect to make 5 dollars a day. If he was working for himself maybe 20dollars a day. I try to buy only Made in America stuff, tough to do for things like clothing/homegoods; always buy American made tools when available(which is rare nowadays).

I heard Walmart is opening stores in China. See if I can figure it out. They buy stuffs made in China and sell them back to the same people, how do they make a profit?

By avoiding the shipping costs.

Thats why I have two or three of all my basic handtools....so that people can borrow them and never return them.:-)

I have a tool box that I throw the tools that I don't like into. Then when someone (subs and HO) says you have a hammer I can borrow I point em to that tool box. LOL....they borrow and never return. But I still have the tools I like.
hey,
Lucky it wasn't a Stiletto titanium hammer.....$200...go figure

YOU LEFT YOUR HAMMER ON THE JOBSITE ON PURPOSE......HELL MAN ,WOULD YOU LEAVE YOUR WIFE OR GIRLFRIEND THERE FOR EVERYONE TO USE AS WELL WHILE YOU'RE NOT THERE...CAUSE IT'S ABOUT THE SAME THING.....AND YES , I KNOW I'M YELLING HERE.....CAUSE THIS IS AN ISSUE THAT NEEDS TO BE HEARD.
I HAVE THE STILETTO, TI-BONE AND AN ORIGINAL, AND I WON'T LET ANYONE UNWORTHY EVEN TOUCH THEM, LET ALONE LET THEM OUT OF MY SIGHT WHEN IT'S NOT LOCKED UP IN THE TRUCK.
THIS IS BAD...VERY BAD.

I feel all castigated and stuff now...LOL...in any event, some tools go into the milk crate at the end of the day, and some go back under lock and key. Guess I'll have to rethink that.
As for wives and girlfriends, I've had a longer relationship with my Jeep than a couple of them. ( Da Jeep doesn't yell when I buy a $200 hand plane). Never spent $200 for a hammer, though, now you guys got me thinking I need to see one of these.
Have you checked out the new (?) weight forward hammer from Estwing? It looks cool, but how does it work? I saw it advertised in this month's FHB.
Pro-Dek... Swing one of these yet?
