Can I get some feedback on hourly the latest handyman rates? Located in Southern Ontario Canada. Have a great crew 4 of qualified guys, all with over 20 years. We are currently at the $50/hr rate as a rule. Not a franchised outfit. Thanks

How much do you need to make? What are people in your area willing to pay for quality work?
I charge $75/hour for handyman work - no problems finding clients - all word of mouth. And I drive to them!!
Sign in my mechanics shop says "Quality, time, price - Pick 2"
How much does each employee cost you including office, shop, vehicle overhead, marketing... then add profit to what the market will bear.
A local handyman outfit here in SC charges $128.50 an hour. I start at $75.00 per hour.
Constructing in metric...
every inch of the way.
Costs/hour/man are aprox. $35 with overhead. Don't want to leave money on the table. I try not to quote hourly rates. Feeling my pricing is too low. Apreciate the info.
Hard to believe that your costs with all in are 35/hr unless you have reallyyyyyyyy low overhead.PaulB

I don't quote hourly rates in my area - competing with too many guys in rusty trucks running around for $20/hour. I do everything 'by the job' even if it means stopping for 10 minutes to look at it ahead of time. My average is around $75/hour...the customer doesn't know that or I wouldn't have any customers.
My daughter lives near Boston. She just paid a handyman franchise $140/hour to come out and re-hang bifold doors (jumped the track), tighten up and adjust a couple of entry locksets and kitchen cab doors. The house is less than 3 years old so it wasn't like he was working with beat-up old stuff. 3 hours later plus a "materials and disposal fee" of $30 (no materials were needed and there wasn't any trash) and the guy couldn't finish because he had another appointment. Said his next opening was in 3 weeks, he could come back an finsh then. Wow. She said he did spend at least one solid hour on his cell phone/smoking in the driveway.
Bottom line, get what your local market will bear. Give them a good value and provide exceptional service, you should stay busy without bending anyone over a barrel.
