hanging ceiling fan on slanted ceiling..
I know you can hang a ceiling fan on a flat ceiling, but I will have to mount the electrical box on the vaulted part of a ceiling in my daughter’s room to keep the fan centered in the room. I know there is a ball at the top of the downrod that will allow this but my roof has a 10/12 pitch, which comes out to a 40 degree angle. Is this too severe an angle?

It should be fine. You will need to buy a longer down rod depending on the size of the fan.
If I recall correctly, the Hunter website has some sketches that show the correct length downrod for most ceiling pitches.
You need to check the specs on the fan to see what the limit is.
But here is a box that will "straight" out a ceiling.

Hey every group has to have one. And I have been elected to be the one. I should make that my tagline.
Hey , thats cheating! I always had to build those things! ;-)
Did you get your design stamped by an engineer?
;)
Nope , but did have the truss company reinforce the adjoining trusses for me... ;-)
