This is the company that supplies my countertop/laminate distributor. http://www.mapleblock.com/
Costly, 6'-175.00 maybe, please consult your supplier. I see lumber liquidators handle it also.
You need to fasten it down to the cabs from below, but allow a bit of slip with an oversize hole in the cab mounting area. If you fasten it down tight, it could pull itself apart with seasonal movement. There is a finish on the surface, can be rejuvenated with a product the manufacturer recommends, or mineral oil.
I am not sure of lengths available, but seem to remember 12' being the longest.
I fabbed this island top rough cutting with a jigsaw, then using a straight bit with bearing guide to a template to clean up the edge. Take it slow, tearout is possible with this product. If I can find a pic from the island top, I'll post it below.

twelve is the longest I get, though there are some that do it with chinks instead of full length pieces and can go longer, but the piecing looks cheap, and I think it ends up only 1-1/4" thick. I use West epoxy around the end grain of the sink cuttout to seal against water. A sink with a drain included can help keep water off the countertop too.

Very nice Paul,
Are those new windows or old?
I gotta tell you, those curtains so close to the cooktop................yikes!
I had those on fire in short order, I am the cook!!

Calvin, same camera, but the old PC had a lousy monitor so I was adjusting the gamma up so I could see clearly on it and not realizing that I was reducing the resolution of the photos at the same time for everyone else. now, i can see them well first time around.Carole has a new digital but it is hands off for me. I tend to tinker with things and she likes her sttings just the way she has them!Eric,
This is the new addition to that 200 year old house, so all the work is brand spanking new. Those are Pella windows.
I know abnout the curtains. Told the interior designers it was a no-no and why. I was not there when they got huyng but I already have an agreement with opwner that i will be 'adapting' them. Gonna remove the half near the range on each window and pin back the other half to swag across. IMO> a fabric pull down shade with matching fabric valence would have been better.Of course, the range is next thing to go...
