Hi: I am putting down some wide board oak flooring in a bed room and I’m wondering how long I need to leave it in the house before I install it. The job is in connecticut and we are having some very cold weather here so the air is quite dry.
Thanks, sam

Until it reaches the normal moisture content level for your area at this time of year. Your local (county) wood floor distributor should be able to give you this information. Call a local flooring contractor and ask where the closest one is. You could take it there after two weeks in the house , ( a few pieces from the inside of the bundle) and check the moisture level. They can advise you at that point. You could possibly end up with excessive shrinkage if it hasn't dried out enough. GW
