Hardibacker installation

I am going to install a tile floor for the first time. I am going to put down Hardibacker first, I am told that I can screw, or nail it down. Also that I could use Galvanized roofing nails, or galvanized ringshank siding nails. Some input as to what is the best method would be helpful. Any tile guys out there?

    I would set it in a bed of premium thinset, and then screw it down with the screws that are especially designed for cement/hardi board
