I have an old house with some nasty old thick paint and the siding below is not looking good. rather than scape and slave away I’m going to put on hardie siding. I’m wondering about priming the back side of the siding, and how much space between the ends that are butted up against window trim or against the next piece of siding. This wall of the house is the west side and really gets blasted by the sun in the summer and the rain in the winter. Any other hints on installing this siding would be appreciated. I’ve already seen the chat on the hangers. thanks doug

Hiya, Doug-
Hardie comes preprimed. 1/8" gaps. Check the Hardie website or pick up an installation sheet from a supplier. It's all there in black and white.
