Hello. I went back through some archived materials but couldn’t find any to answer my question. We’ve been shooting the inch thick Hardie trim boards on with 2 12 inch 15 gauge galvanized finish nails. They grab well, but don’t look good when caulked or putty-ed and painted. I want to shoot them up with a coil siding nailer that shoots the thinner stainless ring shanks with the slight heads on them. Has anyone used one of these guns successfully on the inch thick Hardie trim, or do these nails just bend over before going through? I’d like to buy one of these type of guns, but want to be sure they’ll work for this purpose before spending the $250. I know makita and hitachi make them; not sure who else. Can anyone recommend a brand in this gun category? Thanks from Central PA!
