Hardiplank:
Seems the installation instructions recommend “Score and Snap”. I Imagine a “score all” and a square to guide it.
Do you score the front or the back? How deep?
I’ve put up lots of wood siding, but never had to cut concrete siding before. A client is asking about it.
Thanks for any help.

What IMERC said, buy the sheers & learn to use them, there's none of that carcinogenic dust to deal with. Porter Cable makes a nice set. Amazon.

I have the Kett shear that you can switch from one drill to another. You're right, I just couldn't think of the name.
I wish I had a Kett, and I will the next time I take on more than a small install, but....
I score the front about 3/16" deep and snap; leaves a clean visual line.

120$ for a Kett shear head... 5/8"model... 190$ for thr whole kaboodle...

I have a Kett shear and nibbler set for steel roofing and siding. Since I can convert it from shears to nibblers by switching heads,.. got me to thinkin.
Wonder if the f/c head would fit my Kett body? Could work the other way around too? One drill body and multiple heads sure beats $190 fo seperate kits for each task.
Ever checked into it?

yup...
that's what I did... got the shear head for 5/8" thick....

Thanks.
I've got some tile backer board to cut in the future. It will be a lot nicer to cut it with the Kett shears than a angle grinder and diamond blade.
