I can't reply to the radiant heat issue, but there are numerous articles around the net on how to install hardwood (solid, 3/4") flooring, including youtube videos. Try googling and searching youtube (I've also got two rooms to floor this year, so I've been doing the same searches).
How to lay hardwood strip flooring
Go into the "HOW TO" page of Fine Homebuilding. Go to Flooring, You will find upteen articles on the subject. Go to Fine Homebuilding "Books" and find more in depth media on the subject. You can also get concise articles on subject at web sites for flooring manufactures and floor nailer manufactures.
Thanks for both the replies so far!
I will take some time and research the information you have listed

Hardwood flooring recommendation.
Personally, I would recommend engineered hardwood flooring for a first time installation.
