Is 3/4″ particleboard suitable subfloor material for hardwood? Very little deflection, hardwood will be installed perpendicular to floor joists. Thanks.

adbreese,
No, it is not suitable to install harwood over particle board. The PB will not hold a nail well enough for hardwood. That's been my experience. I just ripped out 800 sq. ft of it out of my house so I could add more plywood and install hardwood over that. What's under the particle board?
