Hello all,
I have a friend (without internet access) who is building a house in Nova Scotia and will be installing a heatpump for both dhw and heating. He’s narrowed the vendor search down to Water Furnace and Florida Heat Pump, both of whom can install in that area.
Does anyone have experience in the operation, upkeep, quality and longevity of either system? Would you lean towards one or the other?
Thanks
Willis

First, welcome.
I've done a few heat pump installs, but am not familiar with the "Florida Heat Pump" brand, so cannot compare. For my own money, if Goodman made a water-air HP I'd buy that, but don't think they do.
If no further responses here, Try asking at:
http://www.hvac-talk.com
in the residential section. Use the same humble "homeowner terminology" there as that site is loaded with people who despise DIY and some who think they are the gods of entropy, so it would also be good to say your installer did not have any storng opinion or they will get all over you for not taking the first 'professional' opinion offered by the installer.
Thanks Junkhound. I posted the same on hvac-talk.com.
With fingers crossed,
Willis
