I’m building a 20’x24′ woodshop. R-19 in the walls and R-38 in the ceilings. It can get cold where I’m located. I need to maintain 60F year round. I’m looking at radiant gas tube heaters. Anyone with experience with these types of heating systems?

Are you talking about heating water in a gas-fired boiler and circulating the heated water in tubing embedded in a concrete slab floor? Or tubing installed under or atop a wood-framed floor?

This type of system is very common in warehouses ans auto service centers, as well as any high volume type of facility.
There are many versions including low intensity, low clearance versions suitable for residential garages and/or shops.
For your shop, the LS series is perfect and you will need no more than 30,000 btuh.

As a designer, I specified these to be installed in many buidings, usually high intensity versions up 15 to 20' above the floor level. I have these in my warehouse and they work well. The minmal extra cost for the two-stage versions are well worth it, though most indutrial customers will not part with any mroe $$ than absolutely necessary. The price difference for high intensity versions are much greater than for the residentials. I have no experience with a residential installation.
Pro's are easy to install, particularly in an existing structure. They provide instantaneous comfort, no filters or fans to worry about. The combustion is not all that efficient, but the spot, radiant heating is very efficient.
Cons are they require attention to clearance requirements, they cost more than some other types of heating, you have to put it where you need heat. It will not provide much heat in areas where it does not "see". (Radiant heat is "line-of-sight", and unlike "radiant" floor heat and classic "radiator" heat, this is true radiant heat). They have to be vented
BTW, the current list price for a 20' LD (two stage) tube heater is $1194.00, and the 20' LS (single stage) tube heater is $1112.00.
