I am looking to replace the carpet I currently have with wood floors or engineered floors. They will go over a concrete slab and I can feel the cold when walking on the carpet. Other than radiant or electric heating, is there anytihng else that I can use that is cost effective? Like, xtra padding or something? If not, what product is recommended for DIYers and is affordable.
Thanks for your help.

Check out Andy Engels article a few issues back about no mould basement. YOu could put a layer foam board then plywood and any floor you want on top. I've installed the electric heat under tile on concrete to take out the chill and it works well.
Have a good day
