Hi folks,
I’m putting on a roof where the edge of the roof rolls down to vertical. However it’s winter in wisconsin, and the shingles are stiff, so they tend to stick out straight instead of curving down. Can I soften them with a heat gun to help them make the gentle bend or will that ruin them? I’m using Certainteed 25 yr shingles.
Thanks in advance,
Tom

Just don't heat'em to the point of blistering/boiling. When the volatile oils leave the asphalt, they become brittle. accelerated aging.
